Plug it in and it works

There is no app, no Bluetooth pairing and no phone involved. One USB lead runs to both panels through a small inline controller — long press for on and off, single press to change mode. That is the entire interface, and it is the reason this one goes in inside ten minutes.

The eye design is fixed in the LED layout itself, not drawn on a screen. That is what keeps it sharp: every lash, brow and pupil is its own run of LEDs rather than a handful of pixels pretending to be a curve.

Eleven modes

One steady mode for a constant glare, and ten flashing patterns — the pupil flickers, the brow sweeps, the whole eye pulses. Cycle through them with the button until you find the one that suits the vehicle, and it stays there.

This is the blue set

We stock the blue version: a deep blue eye with an amber brow and a red pupil. Unlit in daylight it is a plain black panel; after dark it is unmistakable in a mirror three cars back.

Where it goes

Most owners put it inside the rear windscreen, where it faces the traffic behind. It works equally well behind the front screen of a truck cab. We have seen it fitted to sedans, SUVs, off-roaders and tractor-trailers — the panel is the same, only the glass changes.

Size and cable

Four metres of lead is deliberate: it reaches from a rear windscreen to a front USB socket in most cars without an extension.

A word about the road

Rules on lit and flashing displays on a moving vehicle vary between states in India. These are enormously popular on trucks and at meets, but check what applies where you drive before fitting them for road use. We would rather say that plainly than let you find out from a challan.

Do I need an app?

No. There is no app and nothing to pair. A button on the USB lead turns it on and changes the mode.

What colour is it?

Blue — a blue eye with an amber brow and a red pupil. Blue is the version we stock.

Where do I plug it in?

Any USB socket in the car, or a phone charger in the 12V socket. The lead is 4 metres, which reaches the front of most cars from the rear screen.

Will it fit my car?

Each panel is 12 × 30 cm and the two sit side by side, so you need roughly 60 cm of clear glass. It has been fitted to sedans, SUVs, off-roaders and trucks.

Can I change what it displays?

No — the eye design is fixed, and you change the flashing mode only. If you want to choose the design, or show text and your own images, look at our Devil Eye LED Matrix set instead.

When will it reach me?
