The last dark corner of a lit interior is the footwell. Ambient strips wash the dashboard and the door cards; the floor stays black. This is four lit pads — one for each footwell — that fix exactly that.

It is not a strip light

Almost everything sold as car ambient lighting in India is a strip you tuck under the dash. This is a mat. Each pad is 28 × 15 cm and 5 mm thick, and it lies on top of the floor mat you already have. The edge glows in whatever colour you pick, and the centre panel is backlit with a badge. Switched off in daylight it reads as a dark plate sitting on the mat — not a gadget with a wire hanging out of it.

That distinction is the whole product. A strip light points at the ceiling and the dash. This puts light where your feet are, and puts a badge in the one place a passenger looks when they get in.

All three are the same hardware and the same price. Only the backlit panel changes.

What the app does

• Colour wheel — any colour on the wheel, not a fixed set of eight presets.
• Patterns — preset animations across the four pads.
• Music mode — the pads pulse with whatever is playing.
• Voice control — change colour without taking your hands off the wheel.
• Brightness and strobe speed — turn it down to a glow for night driving, or up for photos.

The controller pairs to your phone over Bluetooth. All four pads run from that one controller, so they always match.

Size and fit

Because the pad sits on top of the mat rather than replacing it, it is not cut for one car model. It fits whatever you are already running.

Running it

1. Lay one pad in each footwell, on top of the existing mat.
2. Route the four cables under the mats towards the centre console.
3. Plug the controller into a USB port.
4. Pair the controller in the app over Bluetooth.
5. Pick a colour, or switch on music mode and drive.

Why this costs more than a ₹700 strip light

Because it is not one. A strip light is a metre of adhesive tape with LEDs on it. This is four moulded pads with a backlit panel, a shared controller and an app that actually holds a Bluetooth connection. We would rather explain the gap than quietly close it by importing the cheap version — every product like this leaves its factory in three or four grades at very different prices, and most sellers here bring in the cheapest one.

USB. The controller takes a standard USB port, so any car with a USB socket or a phone charger will run it.

Will it fit my car?

Yes. The pad lies on top of the mat you already have instead of replacing it, so it is not cut to one model. Each pad is 28 × 15 cm — measure your footwell if it is unusually narrow.

Do all four pads change colour together?

Yes. All four run from the single controller, so they stay matched.

Can I have a different badge on each pad?

No — a set is four pads of the same design. If you want two designs, order two sets.

When will it reach me?
