Why two, and why bars

A light strip hides under a shelf and washes one surface. A pair of bars stands up — one either side of the screen — so the colour reads as depth behind whatever you are looking at. That is the difference between a room with lights in it and a room that looks lit.

They ship as a matched pair on weighted hexagonal stands, and they run from a remote, so you are not crawling behind the desk to change anything.

Music mode is the one people keep on

A microphone in the base picks up whatever is playing and the bars move with it — the colour jumps on the beat. Put a game, a film or a playlist on and the wall behind the screen reacts to it. That is the mode nobody turns off after the first night.

On RGB bars the cheap factory grade gives itself away in two places: the diffuser, where you can count the individual LEDs instead of seeing one clean bar of colour, and the microphone, which either misses quiet passages or strobes at everything. We import the graded version of both.

How are they powered?

USB — a phone charger, laptop, monitor USB port or power bank. No adapter to lose.

Do both bars work together?

Yes. They take the same colour and mode from the one remote, so the pair always matches.

Does the music mode need an app or a cable?

Neither. There is a microphone in the base — it listens to the room, so it reacts to a game, a film, a speaker or a phone without pairing to anything.

Can I use just one?

You can, but the effect is built around a pair either side of a screen. One bar alone lights one corner.

Are they bright enough to light a room?

No — and they are not meant to be. These are accent and bias lighting: colour on the wall behind a screen, or a soft warm glow at a bedside. A ceiling light they are not.

When will it reach me?
